A WORD FROM THE DIRECTOR

I am happy to be part of the history of the Golf de Hombourg with the desire to keep this place alive in a spirit of high standards, conviviality and respect for its identity.

My experience has taught me how to manage, organize and advance a collective project with method, practical experience and attention to people.

In Hombourg, I want to continue what makes the site strong, while giving it a dynamic focused on hospitality, quality of service and the pleasure of playing.

My ambition is simple: to make the Golf de Hombourg an elegant, lively and open place, where everyone finds their place, whether they come to discover golf, improve their game or share a good time.

an exceptional setting with a rich history

Born in the heart of the village and shaped by several generations, the Domaine de Hombourg tells a unique story where heritage, nature, and the art of living intertwine. From the 17th century onwards, after abandoning their castle in Butenheim, the d'Andlau family settled on this site overlooking the village and built a residence marked by the vagaries of history, notably the fire of 1792.

At the beginning of the 19th century, the property changed hands several times before undergoing significant transformation. Nicolas Koechlin rebuilt the central part of the château, while the estate's land was developed through agricultural activity that would leave a lasting mark on the site. The farm, the experimental crops, the first vineyards, and the distillery all bear witness to this ambitious desire to cultivate and enhance the estate.

Over time, the estate has changed its appearance without losing its identity. The Burrus family, in turn, left its mark on the history of the place, expanding and transforming the château, and then guiding a new phase of its development. The buildings thus stand out as a remarkable ensemble, blending distinctive architecture, agricultural activity, and family history.

Even today, the Domaine de Hombourg retains the historical depth and unique presence that make it a special place in Alsace. Its exceptional setting, nestled between a castle, park, and forest, now hosts a 36-hole golf course, which naturally extends the spirit of the estate and gives it a new purpose, focused on play, conviviality, and discovery.

THE ARRIVAL OF GOLF

It is in this exceptional setting that the golf course was created in 2007, under the impetus of Heinz Wolters, who designed a complex perfectly integrated into the identity of the estate.

Far from being a simple sports facility, the project was designed to respect the topography of the site, the presence of the castle and the particular atmosphere of the Hardt forest.

Two 18-hole courses have thus been created around the estate, offering a different interpretation of the terrain, but always the same level of playing challenge and the same beautiful setting.

One is more in keeping with the openness of the landscape, the other more intimately embraces the spirit of the park and the surroundings of the castle.

Together they make up a complete golfing experience, where nature, history and the joy of the game meet naturally.

TWO PATHS, TWO EXPERIENCES

The Château de Hombourg Golf Course has naturally integrated itself into this unique environment, respecting the spirit of the place and the beauty of the site. With its two 18-hole courses, the golf course offers a complete, varied, and challenging playing experience, suitable for both experienced players and those wishing to discover an exceptional playing environment.

One of the strengths of the estate lies in this dual configuration, which allows you to experience golf in different ways depending on your desires, level and available time.

Each route reveals a particular facet of the place, between openness, precision, the pleasure of the game and immersion in a preserved landscape.

The Castle
Par 73 — 6,345 m
The Castle course is the club's most iconic. Longer, more open, and more spectacular, it offers a generous playing field where precision and strategy take on their full meaning.

The Village
Par 72 — 5,869 m
The Domaine course offers a more compact, enjoyable, and balanced experience. Accessible yet still technical, it perfectly complements the club's offerings to satisfy a variety of player profiles.

The 6-hole compact course:
An ideal format for discovering, practicing, or playing more quickly.
This compact course allows you to enjoy golf in a simpler and more flexible version, suitable for both beginners and players looking to improve their game.
A complete offer

With its two 18-hole courses and its 6-hole compact course, the Golf du Château de Hombourg offers a real diversity of play, in a well-maintained and elegant environment.

Thus, the Golf de Hombourg is not just a sports field: it is the living continuation of a history, an estate and a setting that give it a unique identity.
